FAQ'sJuly 21 - 25, 2008Daily 9 AM - 12 PMAbout Vacation Bible SchoolVacation Bible School or VBS for short is a fun filled week of learning about God's great love for each and every one of us. It is a time for crafts, games, music, skits, contests. We generally have VBS the third week of July. It is something that children look forward to each summer. Our classes fill up fast. In 2007 more than 150 children from Abington and a dozen surrounding communities attended VBS. Registration is required to allow us to plan for the children adequately. VBS 2008 theme is based upon an adventure park setting. We're not turning the church into a real park, but we will have decorations and fun events that will resemble a park. When is VBS?First Baptist will hold its annual Vacation Bible School this year the week of July 21 - 25, 2008. What ages can attend?Children from age 4 through youth completing sixth grade are invited to join us this week Discovering God's Love. What is VBS?VBS or Vacation Bible School is a fun time of learning about God. Children will enjoy stories from the Bible, singing, crafts, games, exciting skits and snacks. What does VBS Cost?We ask for a donation of $7 per child to help cover the cost of crafts and materials and snacks. How do I register my children?Complete a VBS registration form. Forms are available at the church office or online. The church office business hours are Tuesdays - Fridays from 9 AM to 12 noon. Safety MeasuresWe value the safety of each child. Each adult teacher and helper is CORI checked. All of our staff is on the lookout to keep your children protected. Each staff member is easily identified by their Identification Badge. We check all visitors to our building. We ask about food allergies and prohibit any snacks with peanuts. Many parents want to help with our Vacation Bible School. If you want to help, we would welcome your assistance. We cannot always accomodate everyone's schedule or position request. All volunteers must meet the following restrictions designed to protect the children.
