Wild Wednesday Fun Days

Wild Wednesday Fun Days are events in the summer for youth who have finished grade 4 through grade 12. Some events additional family members are invited to join us.

If you are in grades five through twelve, or graduated this year from high school, you can participate in these events. You need to have a permission form and medical form completed to participate. Both forms are good for one year. To get to the sign up page please go to Youth Login .

Wednesday

  • July 12, 2006
    • Event/Place: Southwicks Zoo, Mendon, MA
    • Time: Meet at the church's North Ave. parking lot at 9:30 AM
    • Cost: $7.50, Age 2 and under are free
    • Sign Up: Yes!! Group Rate requires us to know the number who will be coming.
    • Notes: Moms & Dads are invited to come and bring their younger ones with them.

  • July 26, 2006
    • Event/Place: Sailing on Mount Hope bay to Heritage Park in Fall River and back with Captain Al Donaghy.
    • Cost: $0 (thank you Captain Al!)
    • Sign Up: Had to have signed up for canoe trip.
    • Notes: This event was added in place of scheduled canoe trip, which was postponed because Mark's and Al's pre-run found the Nemasket running too high and this years rains brought too many trees down into the river for safe travel for beginning canoeists.

    • Event/Place: Canoe trip. Nemasket and Taunton Rivers
    • Time: Meet at the church's North Avenue parking lot at 9:30 AM.
    • Cost: $0, free
    • Sign Up: Yes. We want to make sure to have enough canoes and life preservers on hand.
    • Notes: Should be able to swim. Wear swim suit, cover up or clothes you would not mind getting wet. Sun screen and insect repellent. Bring a bag lunch in a zip lock plastic bag or waterproof container. Water or carbonated beverage in a plastic resealable container.
    • Extra Note: We changed this event to travel further south on the Taunton River where the river is wider.

  • August 9, 2006
    • Event/Place: Enjoy a day at the beach at Nantasket Beach in Hull. We will also visit the carousel and arcrade at some point in the day.
    • Time: Meet at the church's North Avenue parking lot at 9:30 AM. We will strive to return to the church by 3 PM.
    • Cost: $3.00 for the carousel and arcade.
    • Sign Up: Yes, but if you can come at the last minute, just call the church that morning to make sure that we have room.
    • Notes: Moms and Dads this is a day that your younger ones can come if you do too.

  • August 16, 2006
    • Event/Place: Day hike in the Blue Hills Reservation in Milton and Quincy, MA.
    • Time: Meet at the church's North Avenue parking lot at 9:30 AM. We will strive to return to the church by 3 PM.
    • Cost: $0, free
    • Sign Up: Yes, but if you can come at the last minute, just call the church that morning to make sure that we have room.
    • Notes: Wear good walking shoes, shorts, tee shirt, and hat. Bring bag lunch, plastic bottle water, day pack to carry your items. You want to be able to have your hands free.

    • Event/Place: Canobie Lake Park
    • Time: Meet at the church's North Avenue parking lot at 10:30 AM. We will return in the evening approximately 9:00 PM.
    • Cost: Youth Grades 4 - 12 $15.00  Others $18.00
    • Sign Up: Yes, but if you can come at the last minute, just call the church that morning to make sure that we have room.
    • Notes: Moms and Dads this event is one you can join us and bring your younger ones and take advantage of the group rate ($18).
